Ktag read Mercedes W211 Delphi DCM 3.2 in BOOT mode

Do you konw Kess v2 master is possible to read Mercedes W211 the 2008 year with ECU Delphi DCM 3.2?

Perhaps not. Ktag should be a better choice to read Siemens/Delphi in BOOT mode.

 

ECU programming tools i have:Kess V2 + Ktag clone (buy as a kit,saved a lot)

 

 

I tried it on my Ford Kuga from 2010OK

i can read the ECU (just choosing the "Identification" option on the KSuite. The Ksuits shows me the info about the ECU, ok.

I tried it it on a Mercedes E220 W211 CDI 125kw (170 HP): Failed

the Kees V2 said to me: "Wake Up Error".

I have read about this error and there are solutions about "Format the TF Card" inside or similar.

 

Note: This Kess V2 comes from a good and reliable seller, so maybe the problem is that this ECU cannot be read by OBd2

It is a second hand car, maybe the ecu it is already reprogrammed or similar.

Read almost all the posts related to this topic. Now i confirmed problem is not kess. i have simens/delphi ecu, not edc16.

The ECU is located under the A/C Filter. At the Left of the Hood.

Siemens/Delphi can be done by Ktag programmer in boot mode.

It’sdelphi dcm 3.2 ecu.Need BDM adapter an make a bridge for two pins.

KTAG work only for bdm, j-tag, boot.So sometimes, you are used to use it with other programmers like Mpps cable, kess v2, fgtech…

 

 

Galletto 4 work with truck, including Benz truck, read and write ECU via both BDM and OBD; KESS not works with truck, read and write ECU via only OBD, not BDM.

 

KESS V2 is a ECU programming tool that is perfect for OBD use, while KTag is perfect for Jtag, BDM and all the Boot application (tricore and ST10).

With KESS V2 you programming directly through the OBD port of the vehicle, while with Ktag (Ktag 2.13) you need to take apart the ECU and open it, after you can make the read/write operation.

Many ECU has the advantage that can be read and write from OBD port (so KESS V2 is perfect), but there are lot ECU that need to disassemble from the car and open and this is the case for all the ECU that need to be programmed with Jtag, BDM and Boot protocols, so KTAG is needed.

 

Fgtech v54, Kess v2 and Ktag 

Because non of China tool will cover all cars good and if you buy clone tools, buy all (galletto+kess+ktag) from them, that you will cover more cars, or better to buy a good original tool if you will do the work as a pro, all depends want you will do.

Use KTAG to read ECU ME9.7

This blog below will show you the steps how I use KTAG to read ECU ME9.7. Hope it helps users.

My car: Mercedes W221 S350

Device i used: KTAG ECU PROGRAMMER

i bought it from obd2express.co.uk at a nice price €75, i know that its retail price is €130

 

Note: Try this Tutorial AT YOUT OWN RISK!

Step1.

Before start reading ECU, i make a backup copy firstly.

First heat the ECU unit edge and open ECU carefully.

Step2.

Open KTAG software.

Then I Choose “Mercedes” “S (W221)” and “S350 3500 V6…BOSCH ME9.7”.

Connect then cable 14P600KT02 to the connector of ECU.

Refer to below pin out diagram:

Red color: Pin 15, 16: +12V

Black: Pin 2: GND

Step3. Apply solder paste on the red area in ECU as following picture:

Solder cable to ECU:

Step4. Go Back to KATG software and choose plug-in “P102”.

I clicked “Read” and wait for a while.

Then Save the bin file.

Finally, i successfully used K-TAG chip tuning tool to read Mercedes W221 ME9.7 ECU !
